East coast progressive bands pulses. and With Sails Ahead have announced they will be embarking on the ‘Woodland Creatures’ tour this fall. The progressive rock/post-hardcore bands will be touring Southwest late September, with stops including Richmond, Orlando, Raleigh and more. The name ‘Woodland Creatures’ is inspired by both bands’ mascot animals (a bird and a red panda, respectively).
pulses. are a 5 piece post-hardcore act with a sponge-like tendency, grabbing influence from as many genres as possible to create an amalgamation of awesome. The band released their first full length album bouquet. in 2017, playing shows in support of the record throughout the DMV area alongside acts such as Eidola, Strawberry Girls, The Ongoing Concept and Kurt Travis (of Royal Coda). Online, the band bolstered their influence via multiple music videos, most notably for the songs ‘What’s Good (What’s Really Good)’ and ‘I Drink Juice (Aqua Berry Cherry)’. The band expects to expand on the “new jack post-hardcore” sound on their upcoming second full length record due out in the fall of 2019.
Progressive rock band With Sails Ahead are best known for their latest EP, Morning Sun, which was released March 9th, 2018, to great critical acclaim. The EP was produced and recorded by Kevin Antreassian (The Dillinger Escape Plan) at Backroom Studios, and mixed and mastered by Derek Moffat (Dreamhouse) at 608 Studios. Blending alt-rock sensibilities with prog-influenced musical ideas, the group has found their footing opening for Tilian Pearson of Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa, Hail the Sun, Royal Coda, Eidola, Wolf & Bear and more. Most recently, With Sails Ahead released a music video for their single “Pixelated”, parodying the worst cliches of being a band in the DIY music scene. Expect new music from With Sails Ahead late 2019 or early 2020.
